Subject: Morning Meeting
Pacing Guide: Weeks 1-40
The Morning Meeting is an essential routine that begins your day.
- Components can cover multiple TK standards across many subjects, including fine arts, math, English Language Arts, and science.
- Introduce each component at a gradual pace, so students have the opportunity to be successful with each activity.
- Modify components as needed to keep students challenged and engaged.
- Pacing Tip: The Morning Meeting is initially led by the teacher, with components added each week (See Pacing Guide, Weeks 1-5). Components of the Morning Meeting can be led by students once all components have been added (See Pacing Guide, Weeks 6-10).

Note on Planning TK Routines
The TK curriculum consists of developmentally appropriate routines. This means that planning routines involves:
- Making it active! Little learners' bodies are constantly in motion.
- Making it real and relevant! Little learners are concrete thinkers.
- Making it repetitive and predictable! Little learners thrive on routine.
- Play! Little learners use play to make sense of their world.
